You can say there’s no such thing as Dougie, But as for Joel and Jesse, we believe. He’d been drinkin’ way too much egg nog, And we’d begged him not to go. But he’d left his medication, So he stumbled out the door into the snow. When they found him Christmas mornin’, At the scene of the attack. There were hoof prints on his forehead, And incriminatin’ dollar marks on his back. Catalyst got run over by a Lasit, Walkin’ home from blogging Christmas eve. I’m really curious how many of these songs you two can pump out in one night. But I guess we’re gonna find out.
I’m not sure Doug appreciates being referred to as Dougie, but since the song mostly makes fun of me, its in.
Oh, and I literally fell over, I was laughing so hard.

Song: There’s no business like church business
The building the parking lot the landscaping the props
The congregation that lifts you up when your’re down
The headaches the heartaches the backaches the flops
The deacon who escorts you out of town
The sermon when your heart beats like a drum
The alter call when the people won’t come
There’s no business like church business
Like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing
Everything the leadership will allow
Nowhere could you have that happy feeling
When you aren’t stealing that extra bow
There’s no people like church people
They smile when they are low
Yesterday they told you you would not go far
That night you joined and there you are
Next day you’re at the church washing the pastors car
Let’s go on with the show
The pastor the elders the teachers the clowns
The deacons that mow the lawn at dawn
The music the spotlight the people the towns
Your baggage with the labels pasted on
There’s no business like church business
If you tell me it’s so
Traveling to other churches is so thrilling
Standing out in front on opening nights
Smiling as you watch the sanctury filling
And see your name up there in lights
There’s no people like church people
They smile when they are low
Even with a doctrine that you know will fold
You may be stranded out in the cold
Still you wouldn’t trade it for a sack o’ gold
Let’s go on with the show
Let’t go on with the show!
The show!
The show!
