What bitterness means to me.
Posted on May 7th, 2005 by catalyst into the Uncategorized categoryI have decided that “to be bitter” must mean a person is “intelligent and thoughtful.”
I come to this conclusion after the numerous times I have been called bitter.
If a person disagrees with the church; then that person has to be bitter.
Well, I embrace my bitterness, and thank God I am able to think for myself.

Methinks Anonymous is just looking in the mirror. I think Cat is honest, brave, funny, and strong. When he finally finds his wife, she’ll be marrying a good man.

Let me preface this by saying that I don’t know you all (well I may know some of you) but I married into a CBC alumni who has left. I have been back a few times, and I come from a really great church in a different place. The church I come from I can honestly say embodies the gospel and the heart of it, and I am proud to be a part of that church. The times that I have gone to CBC have been extremely disappointing to me, first of all I hear about the stories of CBC and while I don’t agree with a lot of the policies of the church some of the PRINCIPLES are ok. The thing I don’t like is that while there is a big flash and bang at CBC I have never felt like they have the HEART of the gospel. This is what really disappoints me.
While I don’t know most of you (if not all) I am on the fence with this blog. I know that it gives a good point of view but I am still undecided about if it is the best thing. The tone of the site seems a little bitter, but I know if I grew up in a church where it was mostly about guilt, shame and money I would most likely be a little bitter to. I’m glad I grew up in a church where it wasn’t about that and it was really about what church and religion is supposed to be about.
