It’s amazing what a graphic designer can do for your image. Their new look comes complete with a new logo and slogan “discover. experience. celebrate.”
Now, their logo looks like an updated version of the NBC peacock and their slogan reads like OMSI’s mission statement (thank you Anna for pointing that out), but apparently CBC believes that a new look will…? I don’t know.
…validate Forward Together?
…increase giving?
…help reach the lost? (now I’m being ridiculous)
I’ve taken some time to browse through the new website (www.citybiblechurch.org) and I am going to share with you my favorite excerpts. What they said will be in blue and what the meant to say will be in red. Enjoy.
What should I expect when I come?

Frank Damazio, senior pastor of City Bible Church, is known for his relevant and transforming Bible teaching. Frank Damazio will at least make reference to the Bible in every sermon. On occasion he will even put scriptures up on the screen for you to read.

I think the blog really must continue…you’ve only just discovered the color-coded text feature, and it’d be a pity to stop at this point.
Oh, and I think it’s “Louis”, not “Luis” Vuitton….the French spelling, you see, not the Spanish.
We wouldn’t want people to think they could get away with imitation LV, after all. Only real snobbery, please.

The new web site is cool. I like the change from westside campus to 217 campus, meaning: more campuses on the west side.I guess at last nights Supper Sunday Service ( how can they revamp the web site and keep that supper gay title?) they said they don’t want anyone in Portland to be more than 20 minutes away from a CBC campus. And they installed 3 women as elders.
So there is no way that the fund raising is going to stop, and they will continue to find ways to capitulate to the culture

seriously I don’t understand how you people can go about doing this. It’s so against what the Bible has to say about leadership and our attitude towards it. If you consider the leadership here to be bad, why keep attending CBC? You seem almost hypocritical…or maybe you guys are forced to attend. I don’t know…just try to think out your whole reason for the existence of this blog and find support from the scriptures.

Ashish, my point is that if the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing at CBC then what is the main thing communicated to you from PF? Do you have to think about it for a while if so it is not being kept the main thing, or do you even know what it is?
More CBC campuses piss me off because in my opinion it is a poor example of Christianity to the Portland metro area. Man will be made much of and not the grace and mercy of God. The bible is not central it is secondary, used as a note pad for your pastors power points, which make no points and have no power.Bible is tossed into the name of the church so it not seen a a rip off of Wendall’s church. Does PF prech the gospel, what is the gospel to people at CBC.
Paul the apostle (greater than Frank the “apostle of portland”) said woe is me if I preach not the Gospel. Personal expierences are marketed to attenders as if that is the goal and main thing. I do not support or agree with much of what is said on this sight but in Acts 17 the bareans searched the scriptures to find out if what Paul was saying was true, is that encouraged at CBC?
