Scrubs Musical

Posted on January 12th, 2007 by catalyst into the About Us category

I know this blog is supposed to be about Religion and how much I struggle with bitternes and hate my pastor. But I don't get paid to run this blog, so I'm going to post something completely unrelated. Something that is near and dear to my heart: Television.

I love TV. And more importantly, I love sitcoms. There is something about sitting down for a half an hour and laughing at stupid jokes that makes me happy. And for my money, the most underatted sitcom of this millennium is Scrubs.

This is likely the last season for Scrubs. However, they are apparently going to end the series on a high note. Next Tuesday they will be doing the entire show as a musical. I caught an advance preview of two of the songs on YouTube and totally laughed.  The songs are hilarious and I want to share them with you.

Clearly you have never seen Arrested Development

I love Arrested Development, but I think it gets a lot of credit. So it’s not underrated. It’s rated just fine.

Scrubs is a show I laugh my butt off at each time I watch it, yet I never make much of an effort to make sure I watch it (like I do with The Office).

    It’s underrated for sure!

I also think “How I Met Your Mother” is underrated and hilarious!

    It’s “awe…

    hold on…

    wait for it…

    some!”

I like Scrubs but I can’t stand all the full house moments at the end of every show.

And the most underrated comedy is It’s always sunny in Philadelphia.

Arrested Development is the most underrated show, and quite possibly the best show ever made by the way. And it is NOT rated just fine. IF IT WAS RATED JUST FINE IT WOULDNT HAVE GOTTEN CANCELLED HALF WAY THROUGH THE THIRD SEASON!! It may seem like it’s rated just fine now, because some people know what it is. But ask some more people and you’ll find out that hardly anyone knows about it or watched it.

But I would say Scrubs is second on the list. Scrubs is awesome.

I just discovered Scrubs a few months ago. It has become one after-work favorites. It’s sad to hear this may be its last season.

30 Rock has also been a surprise hit too (surprise to me at least). Tiny Fey is hilarious.

Who else caught the full episode last night?

    It was fantastic…

OMG…the wife and I were rollin’ during the Poo song and “Guy Love.”

I wouldn’t say that episode was the funniest I’ve ever seen, but dang are their writers creative! Props to them for ALWAYS going outside the box and thinking up new ways to deliver the laughs.

LOL moment = “I know you like to refer to our child as Blaxican”

Creative is right…of course, I love musicals, so it was perfect.

I forgot that I had made plans, and so I missed the show.

Is it worth buying off I-tunes and watching on my computer or should I just wait to see the re-run?

I’m leaning toward spending the $3, shutting my office door and spending the afternoon with my buddies Turk and JD.

  13. Reformed Pope said:

Buy it. It’s well worth it.

    It’s worth buying. I LOL’d.

I missed it too!!! I’m so bummed… is it really available to download off iTunes?

  16. catalyst said:

Well, that may have been the best $1.99 I ever spent. That was just Classic TV.

I think I’m gonna watch it again, right now.

I may be missing something here, so please educate me if so. I’ve never seen Scrubs before but I watched it last Tuesday (My Bright Idea, the one nurse chick gets pregnant) and the song at the end “all of the Words” really caught my attention. Is Scrubs a “Christian” show? Has anyone heard of the Portland band “Kutless”? Anyway, I thought it was a good tune.

Scrubs is not a “christian” show.

Kutless is a pretty decent Christian rock band though. Didn’t know they originated from Portland. That’s cool.

  19. catalyst said:

That episode was a repeat actually. But no Scrubs isn’t a Christian show, they just throw in a lot of less popular music. Anyway, I noticed the same Christian tune. But I didn’t know that Kutless was a Portland band. Good for them. And you’re right, it is a good song.
