I Snapped
Posted on May 3rd, 2007 by catalyst into the About Us categoryI don't have very high standards and I hate moderating the comments on this blog, but I just deleted all of Scheindt1's comments and categorized his future comments as spam.
I know some people loved arguing with him, and if the community here thinks I did the wrong thing, then I'll let him back on. But to me, he was hijacking every thread with annoying, harrassing comments, and I couldn't take it anymore.
I don't mind the occassional troll here and there, but I was beginning to think this guy was ruining every single discussion.
What do you all think? Good idea or bad?

I was getting pretty annoyed but was willing to let it go in the interest of free speech and all. But I think he crossed the line several times with some less-than-subtle sexual/racist insults directed at other posters, and it became clear he just wanted to pick a fight with anyone who would disagree with him.
Good riddance.

I just wished I had waited to post my obituary on this thread…
May 3rd, 2007 at 6:43 am
Well, shucks, you sure put up with alot more from HIM than you did with me…what’s up with that?

If I argue with you, then it means you’re making me think. And so even if I don’t agree with your comments that doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate them. And maybe I snapped at you. And if I did, I apologize.
It’s just a blog and sometimes i get irritable and overreact.
Post it again, here. And I’ll delete the comment under the other blog.

Thank you!

Cat, I’ll miss him - but if you’ll just call me a homo once in awhile, it’ll be OK.

JP:
Thank you for editing out some of the most unpleasant features that can corrupt what was intended to be just a little fun thing. Reading some of those things over the past few weeks has been a real turn-off. I am sure some readers might have found a couple of my posts a turn-off. And that’s okay. So, at the end of this post, Daisyblackhead will cease to exist. But before I go away I want to thank you and many of the other posters for the great fun and laughs over the past months. You have really sent a message of truth to readers with an open mind and willingness to hear things from outside their controll box.
As I depart I wish to leave all with a couple of thoughts.
Heb.12:14-15 Try to live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none will miss out on the special favor of God. Watch out that no bitter root of unbelief rises up among you for whenever it springs up many are corrupted with its poision.
Heb.13:20-21 And now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, equip you with all you need for doing his will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, all that is pleasing to Him. Jesus is the great Shepperd of the sheep by an everlasting covenent, signed with his blood. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Thank You For Your Time

Well, actually, I don’t remember YOU being irritable and snapping at me, just RP….he told me to go away, and said all kinds of mean things…go figure….:o)
May 3rd, 2007 at 8:08 am
I didn’t delete any of your comments or make you spam though…

Good idea
May 3rd, 2007 at 8:43 am
I like arguments but this got every thread off into distraction away from the
topic -so good job! It sounded awfully close to Cowboy’s voice or maybe all people like that just sound the same.

GREAT IDEA! The last incident was over the line. I had been completely ignoring him even nice to him and he was used my regular posting name (thank God my email isn’t displayed) and another posters name and made jokes about disgusting sexual acts. In real life this is borderline slander.
” I know some people loved arguing with him, and if the community here thinks I did the wrong thing, then I’ll let him back on.”
NO! He half-apologized for the racist things he said but less than 5 mins later he started up again. Then a few days later he got even worse. The sexual/anti-gay comments he made later on here were worse because the racist comments he tried to hide with his bullcrap excuses but the anti-gay/sexist comments were outright and disgusting and that thing about the donkey well let’s not go there LOL! Who thinks like that and posts it here? I don’t mind off-topic comments but he crossed the line.

I feel bad — I think I was the one who first confronted him about the things he was saying and claiming regarding race and racial issues…and from then on he was pretty nigh impossible to talk to.
I think he just wanted people to agree with him — to tell him that he was right so he could feel validated. Anyway, I was actually kind of surprised that he didn’t get blocked before.
It is difficult when you can recognize that a person simply cannot see things from your point of view — it becomes futile after that.
May 3rd, 2007 at 11:57 am
I engaged him/her/it until it became obvious that it was simply a waste of time.
I have been on message boards a long time, and when people engage in name-calling, insults and obscenity with virtually every post, they need to be removed, or the entire board will be dragged down.
Some of the most intelligent posts I have ever seen online have come from this site, I would hate to see it ruined because of a few people who want to disrupt it.
You did the right thing.

Actually, I was the first to confront shnitzel and he sounded nothing like cowboy/me…
Austin/cowboy:)
May 3rd, 2007 at 1:06 pm
And Austin…you are proof that we will let you back on our site with good behavior…
Of course you still need to answer “the challenge”.
May 3rd, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Mr. policeman,
Good behavior? You mean “lose” the sarcasm and satire?
Reformed Cowboy…
May 3rd, 2007 at 2:10 pm
Wise decision. Thanks.
May 3rd, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Great decision. THANK YOU!!!

RP
Hummm…. I guess satire has been censured by some on this blog.
How ironic- too bad!

Cowboy, you can abuse me once in awhile - you know - when you’re feeling nostalgic. Makes me feel loved.
…
So, was I over the top with the “3 for 1″ comment about Schnitzel?
You know, whenever I get together to play (jam) with the guys, we always horse around - tease one another. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone go nucular
like Schnitz did over a little horse-play.
May 3rd, 2007 at 7:10 pm
Guess what…Scheindt1 doesn’t realize he’s been blocked yet. I just deleted 3 comments he was trying to get through…
Hilarious.
May 3rd, 2007 at 8:02 pm
What he was doing wasn’t satire. That last thing he said to me if he said it in real life I could have sued him for slander and defamation of character and for being an outright pig LOL!
May 3rd, 2007 at 10:42 pm
Jennifer,
I wasn’t talking about scnitzel….
May 3rd, 2007 at 10:49 pm
Sam,
I thought you were hilarious. I still can’t believe what this guy said…
May 4th, 2007 at 12:00 am
Sworry. He just said that stuff about me because I was a girl and I was young. What a perv. I have never been accused of such filthy behavior lol.
May 4th, 2007 at 6:43 am
I’m sorry too, Jennifer. I’m old and insulated/isolated enough here in ‘Cornville’, that I didn’t know what some of his crapola meant, but have a good idea from what y’all have commented after the fact …
When I first moved here from Seattle, I was pretty smug about the locals - commenting to myself that they had ‘Elmer Fudd’ disease … dang - guess it’s contageous …
For example, first few weeks I was here, I played guitar for worship service and afterwards, a couple of the good ol’ boys came up to introduce themselves - small town news travels fast - one of them said “Wha’d you do fer Boeings?” and I replied “I worked on the International Space Station” - well they looked me over from head to toe and one of them said “funny, you don’t look like no astronaut” … I didn’t have the heart to tell them we built it on the ground before we shot it up in the shuttle … and I must have been asked a dozen times what kind of plane I flew for Boeings - finally I’d tell them I flew a desk around an office. They couldn’t comprehend that everyone who worked for Boeing wasn’t a pilot … (the experience has been my personal ‘Sam in Wonderland’)
There’s a sweet kind of innocence in people here, that I’ve come to really appreciate - and now being out of high pressure corporate life, and living quietly and simply, I can see how much environment / culture affects a person’s behavior / language. Big cities, high pressure jobs, etc., can really make a person “sharp” and I don’t mean ‘intelligent’ sharp, I mean rabid, competitive and biting … real hard to keep that in check when trying to follow Christ … and truth be told, there’s some of that here, but there’s only so many jokes a body can make out of corn and tractors …

Thanks for making the block. It seems that the conversations were getting personal, out of hand and way too sexual. Things were along way from what the whole purpose of this site is for. The balance of the scales was tipped….

This city is ROUGH or anyone….saved or unsaved. Try getting you car towed after being in a store for 3 MINUTES and tell me how you feel lol.

Try driving a tractor, Jennifer. No one will mess with you.

I have a love/hate relationship with the south:
LOVE: It’s like a whole other world down there. The people are nicer overall. I have come into LESS racism (how ironic). The breathing air is like air from another planet you can literally feel the change especially when you have been in the country for awhile and than have to come back here. The air is hard on your lungs that’s how fresh it feels. (That’s how dirty the air is here.) Everything is wayyyy cheaper. THE MEN ARE WAYYY NICER AND THE TERM SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN IS QUITE APPROPRIATE FOR THE MEN DOWN THERE!!
CANT STAND: Experienced less racism but more stupidity. Not all but many people down that to put it nicely….”think at a different pace” lol. I have heard some dumb things (comments and questions) come out of the mouths of southerners no offense and it’s not all of them. I had to learn what the term “barbacue” meat meant LOL and some other things! The slow pace is great for a week after that you can get antsy and bored depending on where you go down south. Some places there is NOTHING to do period, even around the 4th of July. Things are cheaper but sometimes with that you make less money.
My mom grew up there and is considering retiring there. Particularly South Carolina. Sam she learned to drive on a tractor waay back in the 50’s lol. (She had me reeeeeallllllllllll late.)
