The blog Monday Morning Insight has linked to David's recent post and offers the following analysis:
Repent, Pastor Frank!
I agree with Perry Noble when he says that he doesn’t pay attention to his blog critics; but what if the blog in question is one that is specifically set up to bring down your church and your ministry? How should you respond. Case in point. What would you do if you were Pastor Frank? Ignore? Confront? This type of thing is starting to do major damage in many churches. Don’t underestimate the power of the rouge blogger. (By the way, I don’t know any of the situation of this church, or this blogger… I just use this as an instance to make you think about what you’d do if this type of thing happened in your church.QUESTION: If you were Pastor Frank, how would you respond? Or would you at all?
The comments underneath the blog post are fantastic. As you all know, if you criticize the church, you are bitter and angry and hateful and kick puppies and root for the Lakers and like spam.
OMG…not root for the Lakers!! None of us here are that evil or despondent!!
Mmmmmm……Spam.
Wow.
So, according to some of the comments on there, speaking against false teachings & doctrines and unethical practices in the church is considered “bitterness.” I reread David’s list of “sins” and I can’t find anything in there that points to a personal offense between David and Frank. He’s simply calling a spade a spade. This knee-jerk reaction to defend pastors without thinking is just another symptom of what Tom Sparks calls the Church-King theology. He isn’t just a person any more, he’s the King of the church and is untouchable. What horse crap.
Also, it’s spelled “rogue.” “Rouge bloggers” makes us sound like makeup whores instead of backstabbing villains.
You do come off as just someone who writes in a blog about how much CBC sucks and that you really don’t do anything productive.
So to an outside person, you’re just a complete asshole.
Who me?
I mean, I’ll be honest. I do spend the majority of my day at work surfing the internet. So I’m not the most productive guy in the world. But I am getting some things done. And my boss says I do a good job, so I’m at least a little productive. You gotta give me that.
Wow, you actually managed to read that backwards, my friend. Let’s try a modern English version of the Bible and see how it goes?
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.”
Jesus was saying it was more important to show justice, mercy, and faithfulness than it was to tithe.
Back @ you my heart is to do both why sacrifice one for the other. Hear Jesus say do the latter without NEGLICTING the former.”
Gavis Habbard,
Concerning the Tithe, check THIS out.

That about sums up Doug Lasit. Good choice of words!
God Bless
Two things: looking at that guys page views it looks like the link from here in Cat’s post did more for his site traffic today than some of his other articles combined. There sure must be alot of lurkers around here…
Two: I love how quickly the debate ended once JP got him in a corner. So typical of programed churchies.
Three: Havis is an idiot.
I think Havis is PF in disguise.
Johnpaul,
I hope you’ll take what the bloggers at the MMI sight with a fist full of salt … they’re mostly pastors as near as I can tell, PREACHERS AND TAKERS OF THE TITHE … whose first concern was the kind of PR nightmare a blog like this can create for a church … they just add insult to injury …
I’m not hearing them express concern for you in their exhortations to “move on”, rather, I’m hearing them soil their little panties over the possibility that someone might blog about their churches …
See ya, Mr. Johnpaul.
Mr. Sam
Hi,
I posted about this on my blog. I hope you keep this blog going!
