Documenting your tithe

Posted on August 6th, 2007 by catalyst into the Tithe, City Boobie Church category

According to this Time article, ATM's are expected to become even more prevalent in churches. The IRS is requiring greater documentation on charitable contributions, and since ATM's leave an electronic record that fulfill this new requirement, more churches are expected to install them in their buildings.

Beginning with gifts given in 2007, the IRS will demand documentation for charitable contributions under $250. Once, all one needed was a diary entry to vouch for such donations. Specially designed ATMs at church will help document such spur-of-the-moment cash gifts, as well as planned giving. Also as a result of the new IRS rule, credit card donations and tithing are likely to increase too because such electronic fund transfers leave a paper trail.

How long before they end up in City Bible? A year. 6 months?

They already have it at City Church. My sister said she pays her tithe with her debit card.

CC is always on their game. It takes awhile for CBC to find out and rip them off. If CC is already doing it, I’d say it’ll be 1-2 years depending on how long ago CC deployed it.

I think everyone here has great insight. Maybe you are being called by the Holy Spirit to re-create the Acts Church as you see it. You can start your own church and build it in the way you want. I am sure because you do not believe in the Tithe that God will provide all the money you will ever need for your ministry. I am sure because your doing it with the right heart that healing will be abundant and with each healing 3000 will be saved and come to the church. It will be a great thing.

I myself do not have the time, energy or organization to do such great work for God. So I will be a servant in my “cult of Pastor” and assist them (along with the 10000 other members) to do as much as we can to assist the poor and help people in my local city get saved. Eventually I will (along with my wife and family) will become missionaries with another already (but probably not perfect) created mission.

Maybe if your right about all this .. I will be more blessed because of my servant hood and let others be accountable for their actions. If they misappropriate funds well let that be for them to be judged. If they hurt the body let that be on them. I am not going to blog about everyone else who is trying to build God’s kingdom and not do anything myself. To me that is just being disruptive.

Eh, sorry BBW Member. I posted that before I saw that you were spamming the same comment in all the other threads. You’re a tool.

I’m curious if this makes it easier for people to go into debt via charitable giving considering it’s possible that their tithe and offering may not come from cash on hand now.
