Has Judah Smith’s ministry become ineffective?
Posted on October 21st, 2007 by Reformed Pope into the The City Church category
I'm curious, did the Washington Huskies stop coming to genchurch or did Judah Smith lose his anointing? I of course ask this because the Huskies have lost 5 in a row and got dominated last night by the mighty Oregon Ducks. It looked like U of W sent out a JV squad…seriously people…look at this line: Jonathan Stewart: 32 Carries for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns… Oregon had over 660 total yards of offence. The Ducks scored 55 points and didn't even try in the second and third quarters. Maybe it's time to for Judah to hold a Husky pep-rally at the next GC meeting…or maybe it's just time for University of Washington to cancel the rest of their season…after all they completely stink…to be honest, I don't even think God could fix that mess. Go Ducks. ![]()

What’s this? I’m not the only one on this blog who has seen the joke that the NFL has become, and has thus defected to college ball? I think I can now die a happy man…good job, pope.
Here’s the deal. LSU has played poorly the last three weeks, barely beating Florida and almost getting upset by Auburn. They’ll have their hands full next week with Alabama, who are on a roll after embarrassing #20 Tennessee, 41-17, this weekend. If LSU loses or doesn’t beat Alabama convincingly, and Virginia Tech beats over-rated BC, look for us to go to #3 after we spank SC at Autzen.
And all the people said….AMEN!

They may have won, but they still have stupid jerseys! Sorry, that’s all we UW fans can think of…
It was painful to watch.

Yeah.. the polka dots on the shoulders… what’s up with that? Does that go with the hair extensions hanging out the helmet?
October 23rd, 2007 at 5:06 am
My guess is the guys on the UW D-line haven’t been tithing regularly.
October 23rd, 2007 at 7:26 am
Lol. Wow. You guys must either be completely un motivated to keep this blog going. Or must be low on material. Because this post is a joke.
October 23rd, 2007 at 8:01 am
this is all you guys got?
October 23rd, 2007 at 11:57 am
The blog itself is a parody, so a joke is OK.
Low on material? I hardly think so. Maybe they are taking a break to let the CNN headlines catch up a bit…..how is the ORU scandal playing out?

I will confess that I’m much less likely to come onto this blog when it says “Go Ducks” on the front page. It grieves my spirit. Why do we continue to compromise even though we know Christ has set us free. Have we forgotten that darkness has no place with light.
To emphasize this point, allow me to share a recent word from the Lord with you.
The other day, while I was pressing in, the Holy Spirit gave me a great insight. I was reading Gen 19:24. It says, “Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven.”
After meditating on it for a while, He asked me if I understood how relevant this passage was to today. I said “Yes, Lord. Its so clear… Sodom and GomOregon. You want to rain fire and brimstone on Eugene.”
Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
And then, as in the days of Jonah, He said “Arise, go to Eugene, the great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”
I replied, “Yes Lord, I hate their uniforms too.”
So here I am, Ducks fans. Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the mallards. He has sent me to bind up those held hostage by Phil Knight and proclaim the favorable year of the Huskies. (maybe in 2009?)
Remember, Duck fans, you are now free from sin. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. You cannot like the Ducks. I don’t care if you went to school there.
No man can serve two masters, you must love the one and hate the other. Thats why we must love Jesus and hate Oregon. It’s bliblical.

I love parody. Great job DOC, you’ve presented a solid case agaist the U of O…
October 24th, 2007 at 2:03 am
Good job, DOC. Very witty.
Still though, I worry you miss the point. I know I did, too, after hanging around here for the past few months. But, thank goodness, I have only recently seen the light, and I think that maybe you need to be let in on the secret, as well.
You see, the unenlightened observer might surmise this blog is about bashing anything affiliated with MFI. No, no, no. How superficial to suppose this — Reformed Pope and catalyst are much too sophisticated to play this sort of game, although they do use it as a cover.
And it certainly does work well, doesn’t it? Luring in MFI-haters by the thousands, letting them vent for a while, rag on FD and WS, and then, without warning…BOOM! The door slams shut, and they are trapped in Duckdom…forced to behold their snazzy new uni’s on the C-BUS-C virtual Jumbotron…reading their weekly stats over and over…charting their power ratings, and analyzing their injury reports.
And that’s just for starters. Just wait’ll those unsuspecting dolts find out our manual is not really the Holy Bible, but the Duck Play Book — which they will be forced to memorize, by the way.
Yes, it’s only too obvious…the REAL reason, yea, the ONLY reason, this blog exists is to revel in the glory of the mighty Oregon Ducks, and their inexorable march to the NCAA, Div. 1, National Title. (”How long, O Lord?”)
Now, everyone, grab that song book from the back of the C-BUS-C virtual pew in front of you, turn to page 1, and join me in a rousing rendition of our Most Sacred Hymn, “Mighty Oregon!”
(Choir Director?…Hey Sam!!…Key of C, please…)
Oregon, our Alma Mater
We will guard thee on and on
Let us gather round and cheer her
Chant her glory Oregon
Roar the praises of her warriors
Sing the story Oregon
On to victory urge the heroes
Of our mighty Oregon!
Go Ducks Go!
Fight Ducks Fight!
Go!
Fight!
Win Ducks Win!
(wiping tears)

P.S. Seen the latest line? Ducks by 3 over SC!!
(I’m wetting my pants right now, and I don’t even care)

The Ducks should sue Oprah and O magazine.

I bet Autzen was R-A-W-K-I-N-G!

O…I was there alright. I don’t know how they looked on tV, but from where I was sitting it was clear that the Ducks were better than the Trojans.
Bring on the Sun Devils…
October 30th, 2007 at 1:10 am
You are one lucky dog, pope.
What, you got someone on the inside getting you tickets? Mike Bellotti used to babysit you, right? Or maybe Cat was engaged to his daughter?
All I can say is, it must be nice…
And yes, bring on the Sun Devils! The early spread has us by anywhere from 7 to 9

Well, the mighty Ducks win another one, covering the spread nicely.
Shoulda gone to #2 in the rankings after beating #4 ASU by 12, but it seems LSU barely squeaking by #17 Alabama was apparently more impressive to the dummies who decide this stuff. Go figure.
Another reason the BCS needs to go the way of the dodo.

With Ohio State’s loss yesterday to the unranked Illini, the mighty Ducks should go to #2. I predicted — sorta, heh-heh — this loss Friday at work to a diehard Buckeye man. Guess he’ll be ducking me Monday
I’ve also noticed something interesting happening here. As we all know, the year’s schedules are set long before the actual football season begins. Now, who could have known that Oregon would need the extra days rest for Dixon’s knee to thoroughly heel for Thursday’s game at Tucson?
It’s obvious to me that the hand of Providence is definitely at work here. Thus, I would offer the following proposition:
No, Judah……God is not a Dawgs fan……He’s a DUCKS fan!
And why not? You think it’s mere coincidence that we have the nickname “Ducks?” No, it’s all part of an elaborate scheme. You see, we all know God opposes the proud — I’m thinking here of the Trojans, Bruins, Wildcats, Sun Devils, Cougars, Huskies, and so on — but exalts the humble.
Now I ask you……who is more humble than the lowly duck?
Looks like we’re a lock for the BCS title game (vigorously rubbing rabbit’s foot). Still though, it wouldn’t hurt for unbeaten Kansas to lose to either Iowa State or #7 Mizzou just to help convince the planners. The Sooners losing wouldn’t hurt, either.
It’s a great time to be alive.
GO DUCKS!!!

How do you like my Illini now, Joe?
So - turn back the clock about 8 years, Karen and I arrive in Cornville courtesy of Ryder … we go see our family, who are all UI grads and one of my nephews spots my Dawg’s hat and asks “what is that on there, a Weasel?” … I politely told him, “no son, that’s a Husky - you know - the National Champions a few years ago” … “You’re in Illinois now uncle Jack - you should be an Illini’s fan” … “I will be son, if they ever beat a decent team.”
Yesterday, I became an Illinis fan.
Epilogue: that same visit with my family my young nephew bounced down the stairs wearing an Illini cap - typically a deep blue with an orange “I”. Or vis a vis. I looked at it with about the same disdain he had for my “W” hat and asked him “shouldn’t that way “Me”?”
Oh, and “Go Ducks!!!”
November 11th, 2007 at 7:03 am
Illinois looked really good last night. The way they controlled the ball in the fourth quarter was really impressive.
Here on the east coast, all I’m hearing is how great Oklahoma is, and I worry that they may jump Oregon in the standings… but we’ll see.

I used to be a Dawgs fan, too, having lived in Seattle for a few years as a kid, and lived just a few miles from the campus. Followed them through those great years with Don James, and always rooted for them when they weren’t playing my Ducks or the Beavs.
They rawk.
Me, too.
GO DUCKS!
