Reason #128 why Christians can’t get married

….they post crazy ads like this on Craigslist:

Need 2 Dates for Dec. 7 Church Event

Seeking two normal, single, available, 30-something Christian guys who are respectful, interesting, and not into playing fantasy internet games because they can't handle interacting with the real world kind of people. Only single men who have a real personal relationship with Jesus Christ and seek to know Him every day should inquire. My house-mate and I are looking for two nice guys that would accompany us to a classy musical church event on Friday, December 7th. It would be a cheap date too, 10 bucks each! We would probably want to meet up before the event just to make sure you are reasonably presentable, not creepy or wierd, and can carry on an appropriate conversation. It would be nice if you would send a photo of yourself in your reply. Bonus points for anyone over 5'6, steadily employed, musical, active, and outdoorsy.

Hat Tip Chris, who I have no doubt has already responded to this ad and will be in the front row of this musical singing along excitedly with his two dates and the rest of the congregation.

  1. Creflo Dollar’s ministry took in 69 million dollars last year. Joyce Meyers has a $23,000 toilet. (what is it extra big?) These are a few of the findings in the senatorial investigation of these ministries so far. Also Creflo was given a Rolls Royce by his congregation. You can read the story here: http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/stories/2007/11/11/preachers11111.html
I’m sure this is just the tip of the iceberg on this one.

Sorry for changing the subject but I felt this story noteworthy.

  2. It certainly is going to be interesting to see how these pastors respond.

Grassley has gone after several other non-profits including the Red Cross and United Way. And the result has been significant restructuring of the organization. My hope is simply that religious non-profits have to file the same tax-claims as all the other non-profits. Thus, making their salaries and spending open to the public.

  3. Gee, I hope they’ve left themselves enough time between now and Dec. 7th to sort out the deluge of replies they’re sure to receive from such a titillating offer.

Perhaps the same duo will write a book called “Wives, Submit to your Husband” …

  4. If I fitted in the age group; I’d go for it, act normal, and then at the church event, I’d suddenly start talking about anime, counter-strike, and how 萌え isn’t creepy at all.

Yeah, I love being a nerd who can act like normal people in public.

  5. Back to Christian Homeschoolers:
    “Has to be a Christian…”
“He has to white… or he can be Chinese.. or just Asian… or from Europe…”
    Apparently everything’s ok, except black.

Haha… I kind of liked her. At least she was honest.
