“Don’t treat pastors like they’re God”
Posted on November 27th, 2007 by catalyst into the Uncategorized categoryA reader sends in this CNN video clip of a sex scandal surrounding a pastor who found out that his uncle was really his father. (Yep, this took place in the South.)
It's a good interview about how congregations need to stop treating pastors like they are infallible. The pastor in the clip seemed a little smug to me and I found it annoying. But other than that a nice discussion on how we treat authority figures in the church.

A smug pastor I don’t believe it.

So, cat, what’s up with the thinly veiled dig at the South? (offended look)
As in, “I know it may seem strange this guy’s father is really his uncle, but we are talking about the South here, after all.”

I don’t think it was thinly veiled. It was an open attack on the south for being a bunch of inbred rednecks. …but perhaps I should have included a smiley face…
… there you go…

Sammy, I’m so offended for you. The nerve of this guy, huh? It just might be time for a guest appearance of El Kabong, doncha think? Teach this guy some respect.

Hey, you guys. Take it easy on the South. As screwed up as this country is,
what we really need is a few more “rednecks”.
Yahoo !!! Let’s hear it for the rednecks !!!
