Three Years

Posted on December 2nd, 2007 by catalyst into the Uncategorized category

Yesterday, was the third year anniversary of this blog. And yes, I'm as surprised as anyone else that we're still around.

I really do think the blog tapped into a larger movement in the country. A general resistance to the "prosperity doctrine". You combine this resistance with the likely upcoming economic recession in 2008, and I think next year could be very interesting.

Thanks as always to everyone who reads and contributes to this blog.  I really appreciate it.

I agree that this blog has tapped into a very real need in the universal church - not just the church in America. As George Barna in his book Revolution notes: millions of Christians are leaving the insitutional/hierarchical churches for simpler more meaningful contexts of faith and worship. As they come out, they will need to get healed from spiritual and power abuses. In order to heal, they will need to find a context in which they can share their true thoughts, experiences and feelings without fear of threat or harassment. They will need to interact with like minds and hearts. Herein enters the therapeutic blog. Happy Anniversary!

Dang, I forgot our anniversary! Let me run to the Kwiki Mart and buy you a case of beer to make up for it. hehe

Congrats on making it this far. This blog has been immensely entertaining, instructional, and I truly believe it has had a positive influence in exposing the Prosperity Doctrine.

Aren’t you glad we wouldn’t let you quit?

I had the privilege of meeting Reformed Pope quite a few months ago in Tom Sparks’ office in Clackamas. I have not yet met Catalyst but look forward to it someday. When I first heard of this blog, I knew that I had to meet the guys who had the guts and fortitude to launch something like this and keep it going! I’m very grateful to both of them for letting me share some of my thoughts with the many readers of this blog.

By way of analogy and in reference to Frank Damazio going to his lawyers many months ago to try to stop this blog:

As a news announcer said last night about one of the presidential candidates: This candidate is just now getting the highest compliment he could ever get on the campaign trail: his opponents are beginning regularly to lash out at him because they now consider him a real threat to their aspirations of power.

    Who is this referring to?

    Probably Huckabee

I was always kind of surprised Huckabee didn’t get more attention. He is clearly the candidate that most fits the Republican Party. I’m glad he’s getting his due. It will be interesting to see if he can win with absolutely no money, which is what’s holding him up.

As for me, I’m rooting for Ron Paul and Barack Obama. That’s my dream Presidential matchup.
