Jumpin on the Grace Bandwagon

I would pay for my plane ticket, hotel (well probably motel), food, rental car and no love offering honorarium for a shot at speaking at the conference. That would be hilarious!!!!

Pro-Life & In favor of Keeping Abortion Legal

I wouldn’t call the current administration “Christian”. Nor would i call the Obama administration “Christian” either.

Yep your right Steward, I call it politics! That's it, nothing more nothing less, but the evangelical right call's it God and the evangelical left calls it God damn America that's in the bible, LOL!!!

Oops, I did it wrong. Let's try again from the top.

Only time can tell what an Obama administration is capable of.

Why must you “hater’s” bring it all back to Obama? The broader point is that the church in 20 years will look distinctly different “with” or “without” Obama in office. There’s alot of people who “struggle” with Christianty which inherently is not a political problem but a spiritual one!

Focus on the Family cuts 202 Jobs

I hear you Cat! I've grown weary of this "brand" of Christianity that truly feels it's their calling to save "Western Civilization"! This is what the Dobsonites and the morally Religious Right have turned into. There was an article handed to me in my community group this past Sunday from Reformer via Reformed Pope written by Michael S. Horton (good read called "BEYOND CULTURE WARS"):

"Fundamentalist have always been hostile to the outside world, but now they are highly politicized. Their anti-worldly stance which was once kept within the four walls of the church building is now seen in mass rallies in public places. U.S. Senate chaplain Richard Halverson, an evangelical himself, recently said, 'All evagelicals care about is their own agenda. They will keep all the phone lines in Washington busy and many of the callers are downright nasty, yet when it comes to hundreds of other issues Congress faces, they never hear from Evangelicals.' The only time we get involved in education is to protest public education. The only time, it seems, we get involved in the arts is to protest the public funding of obscene art. While pro-life leaders often confuse the issue of abortion with getting little red riding hood taken out of the public libraries."

So true...so true...

The foul vomitous from-the-pit-of-hell Prosperity Gospel...

I recommend Great Faith by Pastor Wendell Smith and Mega-Faith by Marilyn Hickey. Note, please read the great one before reading the mega one… that’s how God works… you have to read the books in order. And in order for these books to make sense you need to sow an “illumination” seed including an entire paycheck… to me

Cat, if you read these books rest assured you'll cut the thread!

I have to be honest, my faith in Christ is hanging by a thread. And most days I think I would be happier just being an atheist.

Been there! After my Maranatha Campus Ministry and CBC experience, I too hung on a string! In fact, sitting around for 4 years here in LA gave me ample time to look back at the first 15 years of my Christianity (excluding The Well, that would make it 19 years), but those first 15 years were a bad bad nightmare and I mean very bad. But, had it not been for the gospel, in all seriousness I would have cut the string.

I know you maybe clowning around, but I just wanted you to know that I have never been more alive to Jesus and yet still live with doubts. But here is some great books that have really worked on my head and heart:

A Reason for God by Tim Keller (I have yet to encounter a CHristian thinker like him, he's off the chain!)

Check him out on Youtube:

(He is lecturing at UC Berkeley):

And this one he is at AUTHORS at GOOGLES:

The Dawkins Delusion by Alister McGrath (I just read "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and Alister lovingly dismantled it)

and the last read is THE GATE CHURCH by Frank Damazio, that should really straighten you out, LOL!!!

Sarah Palin is the female Bill Clinton

I'm gonna plagiarize that point. But there is an art to plagiarizing.

The first time you share the point with someone, you say something like this, "ya know my boy Reformer once said..."

The second time you share the point with someone, you say something like this, "ya know someone once said..."

The third time you share the point with someone, you say something like this, "ya know, I was praying one morning and God showed me..."

Reformer said:

Also, how can a party that says they want less government involvement in people’s lives, turn around and ask the government to make certain fundamental right illegal? It just doesn’t add up to me.

That is a great point! Probably the best point I have heard in a while.
